YOGA AT HOME: DEVELOPING A PERSONAL PRACTICE

Developing a home practice is an amazing way to to increase the depth and regularity of your yoga practice. Making time to practice on our own in between classes gives us space to explore our unique relationship with yoga and our own bodies and minds.
You’ll find the freedom to move at your own pace, listen to your body and respond to your needs, noticing how the practice affects your daily life and wellbeing.
Developing a home practice can be daunting - yoga is a huge subject! - so I have created this workshop for you, during which we will explore the tools you need to get going. We will work on asana (postures), pranayama (breath work) and simple meditations and how to connect them all together, along with other hints & tips on establishing your routine and finding out more about this ancient philosophy and how to bring it into your daily life.
Some previous experience of yoga would be beneficial but not absolutely essential. Please contact me if you are unsure.
Please bring: a new notebook & pen, water, your own mat & props if you have them (though all will be available to borrow if you do not).
Wear: clothing comfortable to move & practice in, plus warm socks & a jumper.
You will be offered the opportunity to purchase your own set of props closer to the time.
ROLL RELEASE RESTORE
A Myofacial Release Workshop with Jackie

This workshop will give you the opportunity to explore body sustainability for maintaining a healthy body through SMR self myofascial release with the aid of foam rollers and ball therapy.
Bodyrolling is a powerful and profound self-fixing and maintaining tool created by Jackie – a master teacher and healer who has dedicated her life to understanding how the body works and to helping others to create positive change in their bodies. It is a practice that everyone can do regardless of age or physical limitations. The system empowers us to maintain our own body structures, thus healing and preventing pain and injury. Fundamentally, it enables us to maintain our bodies, preventing injuries and keeping the body moving freely and without restriction at every age.
If you have ever suffered from back pain and you want to prevent any back discomfort or weakness, this class will help you to:
• correct and maintain a healthy body
• build a long and strong back, maintaining healthy lumbar, thoracic and cervical vertebrae and discs
• correctly work the abdominal muscles so they support and protect the spine properly
Using props created by Jackie, you will be lead through routines which:
Tone and elongate muscles
• release the spine
• improve alignment
• expand the lungs and deepen breathing
• increase relaxation response
• increase blood flow and circulation
• stimulate nerve roots and organs
• promote healing
The effects are instant and you will experience remarkable changes in your body after just one session.
Suitable for all levels, this workshop is highly recommended for anyone who has suffered from back issues of any kind. Similar but better than any massage therapy, bodyrolling is also the ideal compliment to a yoga practice, enabling you to deepen your practice and develop an intuitive understanding of your own anatomy. You will also be able to continue the practice at home.
This brilliantly informative and practical workshop will be finished off with some yummy yin yoga to really bliss you out.
